Where to invest when market is falling

When the market is bearish pattern and you know for some certianity that the market would fall
what do you do, There are many options available in such situations.
You can look at investments like Gold
You can look at some stocks with earnings that might still do good on that day
You can invest in some of the volatility related ETFS like VXX,FAZ,TZA etc( more detailed article coming soon).
